Episode 93 The Soup George is walking with Kelly the waitress in the park --

"Horse manures not that bad. I dont even mind the word manure. You know, its, its nure, which is good. and a ma in front of it. MA-NURE. When you consider the other choices, manure is actually pretty refreshing."

I dont know if its stupid as such, but there's something about the line "you're killing independant george".

To each his own, but I'd call that one of his greatest lines.

you have the chicken, the hen and the rooster. The rooster goes with the hen. So who's having sex with the chicken?

Yup, in "The Rye" when two other of George's worlds collided - his parents and his prospective in-laws.

The line is actually:

GEORGE: The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to send back soap in a deli!

I always thought it was.. "at a deli" but I just played it 5 times and I think he says in a deli. Anyway -- I'm working on the transcription for the episode now, so I'll fix all the errors.

best, Dan

In "The Red Dot," when he's getting fired by Mr. Lippman for having sexual intercourse on his desk with the cleaning lady, he tries one last shot at hanging onto his job: "What about the whole Christmas spirit thing? Any flexibility there?" And his hand gestures add to the comic atmosphere.

Saw "The Barber" tonight - one of my faves - for the first time in several years. I keep missing it in the rotation. Anyway, when his boss, Mr. Tuttle returns from vacation, he finds that George has done nothing with the Pensky file. (Well, he *did* transfer its contents into a flexible, accordion-style folder.) George's reply to Tuttle's query, "What have you been doing all week?" is the clever, "Well you missed a lovely little party that we had for Grace." After further admonishment from Tuttle, he adds, "Well, bear in mind that I am in the smaller office." That never fails to crack me up.

George: Uhm, hi, it's George, George Costanza, remember me? The guy that didn't come up for coffee. You see, I didn't realise that coffee didn't really mean ... well, whatever. Anyway, it was fun. It was, erm, it was fun, so, oh boy, uhm, so, you call me back. If you want, it's up to you, you know, whatever you wanna do. Either way. The ball's in your court. So, er, take it easy.

Followed by--

George: I know you're there, I don't know what your story is.

Followed by--

George: Where the hell do you get the nerve? You invite me up for coffee and then you don't call me back for four days? I don't like coffee, I don't have to come up. I'd like to get one more shot at the coffee just so I could spit it in your face.

Well, it's an odd thing to say... especially if you dont know about worlds colliding. Its one of those Bizarre lines. Its weird and freaky, yet absolutee genius at the same time! Kind of like that horrid horrid film Thourighly Modern Millie (hope I spelt that right).
