ER, Seinfeld, and the rest of NBC's powerhouse Thursday lineup, coupled with the Golden Globe Awards, took the 8 spots out of the Top 10. The Top 3 shows were NBC's biggest hits, ER once again topped the charts, Seinfeld following close behind and Friends at a distant third. Although King of the Hill, which aired opposite Friends on Thursday, was buried in the ratings, industry insiders think that King of the Hill might be "King of Thursday Nights" the following fall when NBC won't have the comfort of Seinfeld at its 9 o'clock anchor spot.
