Least Favorite Episode

Everyone likes to list their favorite episodes (mine is "The Bubble Boy"). What are people's least favorite episodes of the series. I read through the episode list and could not find very many that I do not think will stand the test of time. My least favorite episode is "The Smelly Car". I just don't think that it was that funny compared to the many other classic episodes that are so well loved. The only funny part of that episode is where Kramer tries to 'convert' Susan's lesbian lover.

Does anyone else have votes for what they consider the 'duds' of the Seinfeld series (and I don't think that there are many).

I'm with you on the Smelly Car. The first time I ever saw Seinfeld (at the behest of my brother-in-law) the episode was the Smelly Car, the episode like the car stunk. I couldn't understand how my b-i-l or anyone for that matter could like Seinfled. Then one day I said to myself, "I'll give the show another chance" Luckily it was hysterical and I became a loyal fan.

Parts of the California episode are hilarious: the scene in the back of police car with Geogre, Jerry, and the crook (Clint Howard) is a classic. No real big yucks, but the actors genuinely seem to be enjoying themselves.

What am I, hard of smelling? hee, that's a great one..

my least fav's are The Boyfriend, The Movie (I think it's called that, the one where Jerry tries to play a club and go see a movie with the gang the same night, kept taking a cab, they all saw different movies, etc.. )..

those are my 2 least favorite shows.

My least favorite is "The Dog", because it didn't have one real good laugh in it.

I'm not crazy about The Dog either but I love the George and Elaine premise that feel awkward toward each other when Jerry's not around. It still made kinda sense in those earlier years.

You don't like The Smelly Car? I liked seeing them talk about it like an entity. And how it would never go away. Ah well. And I liked The Boyfriend too. I think the only one I didn't really like was one of the ones where Kramer went to LA

I personally never enjoyed the 2-part episode when Kramer goes to Los Angeles. I found this episode to be very slow and not that funny.

Its funny what people think is funny. I have always liked the episodes where Kramer is in California. Especially when George and Jerry are trying to figure out where they are and George asks a guy on the street who replies "Earth". Also, the hardnosed cops were hilarious to me. I think that they were take offs on every cop show/Dirty Harry movie in existence. These were also the episodes where Jerry is on the Tonight Show and George hobnobs with the guests backstage. I thought it was funny when George presented the idea for a "case" on LA Law to Corbin Bernsen and gave ideas on how to "improve" Cheers to George Wendt. George also was funny when trying to get the maid Lupe to not tuck in the covers. "One tuck, One no-tuck." Oh well, to each his/her own on finding what is humorous...

The Japanese episode. Kramer invites some Japanese tourist guys to stay at his apartment. Sort of racist. Kramer manipulates the tourists to spend all their money becuz they are Japanese and "they should spend all their money on US goods"

Not true, only some of the old episodes are classics, The Deal sucked, and The Dog sucked, and The Good Samaritan sucked. The only episodes from the past two seasons (8 and 9) that have really sucked is "The Millenium" and "The Butter Shave".

I also tend to agree that not all old episodes are classics. I'll watch The Robbery , Male Unbounding or The Baby Shower when they come back in syndication, but I can't watch them over and over on video as I can with much of the later stuff. If I have to pick a dud for each season they would be : -The Junkmail (season 9) -The Checks (season 8) -The Bottle deposit 2 (season 7) (loved the setup in the first part but it kinda stretches into...nothing!) -The Gymnast (season 6) -The Conversion (season 5) -The Old Man (season 4) -The Library (season 3) -The Baby shower (season 2) -Male Unbounding (season 1) They all have their moments but they lack (for me)some of the sparks that makes classic episodes.

I believe your neglecting to factor in the newer episodes, which are obviously worse. Besides, I thought the busboy was pretty funny.

I've seen "The Betrayal" about 5 times now, and it keeps getting better with each rewatching. If the only reason you didn't like it was because it was hard to follow, give it another chance. You'll see.

My least favorite episode would be "Good News, Bad News". No Lanie, Richards played Kramer as lethargic and dim-witted, and the George/Jerry banter was timid. Obviously a pilot. There was little chemistry. On the basis of the pilot alone, I really can't see how the show got picked up. Honestly. Not that I don't thank God that it did, but go back and rewatch the first episode and tell me what you really think.

BTW, I thought "The Busboy" was hysterical. George inadvertantly causing so much mischief in the busboy's life, and Elaine trying desperately to get her house guest to the airport were very comical subplots. The Cartoon didn't work for me. It all seemed like an episode that didn't quite come together. And from the older ones, I really don't like The OPera with Crazy Joe. It got too weird to be really funny at a point. I don't care for Crazy Joe as a character.

I also did not like the "Backwards" episode. The whole India wedding/start from the end thing seemed like a lame show to me. Anyone concur/disagree?

The fact that Kramer has already researched the can scam was beautiful, because it's such a Kramerican thing to do. I loved it when he re-ran the numbers and realized that they could actually pull it off. He kisses Newman and calls him a "beautiful bastard".

The other thing is the farmer's daughter joke, which escaped me at first. Not the overall framework of the joke, which is apparent: "Just one thing--keep your hands off my daughter". But when the farmer suggests that Newman might want to help milk the cow in the morning, Newman demurs, citing his lack of farming know-how. The worst episodes ever include "The English Patient", "The Butter Shave", "The Wait Out" and "The Letter".
