In the comments on the 2/4 show, no one mentioned that Kramer has fallen off the fruit wagon: he downs the Clark bar, and then lusts for Ring-Dings in the car on the way to the liquor store/bakery. Looks like Kramer is back on sugar, after he "kicked fructose" two seasons ago and helped Duane the optome- trist give up his sugar habit. Looks like Kramer's banishment from Joe's fruit stand is having a disasterous effect.
A quick response to all those complaining about this season's Seinfeld: you expect too much. The show is much funnier than is was in the first two mini-seasons, and at least on four or five occasions (The orgasm episode; the optometrist epsiode; the tennis episode; the cigar store indian; the toilet paper/976 line episode) the writing and schtick are as good as anything they've done. The problem now is that the show is hot, and everyone sits down on Thurs night expecting to laugh uncontrollably for 22 1/2 minutes. No program ever satisfied those kinds of expectations. Want to get back in the groove? Tape it and watch it three weeks later. You'll smile a lot more because the pressure's off.
The only advice I'd give the writers is to deemphasize George a bit. He's a great and effective character, but the writers have made him so pathetic that you want to reach into the television and strangle him. Give the extra room to Kramer.
Two other great bits just popped into my head as I close: the "massage rape," and George's non-job offer and the Pinsky file.
