Kramer on "Friday's"

I watched a special last night on Andy Kaufman, and they showed a clip where Michael Richards and Kaufman were eating at a resturant and Kaufman would not say his lines. He then dumped water on Richards's head and Michael pulled a "Kramer-like spasm". Then all hell broke lose and Kaufman got in a fight with the producer. Was the fight real? The show never said.
