Michael Richards Show??

As I am not an American, I do not know a lot about this show, apart from that it is starting soon or has started. If it has began, what is it like and is MR Kramer-like, or is his character in a different mould??

As much info as possible would be great.

I saw Michael Richards doing adverts for Vodafone in Australia last year which were quite amusing. Very strange to suddenly see cardboard Kramers in all the mobile phone shops though.

I liked it...It had a few moments... I seen the seinfeld pilot as well..Wasn't the greatest..But was OK ... They will build on it... The office scene when he was inteviewing "mitchs" was funny... And the old guy that has the attitude looks like has great potential to turn that part into a great 2nd piece of comedy beyond Richards...

I actuallty thought the opposite. I thought the other cast members were holding him up. I just didn't think he had that spark like he had in everything else (except that lawyer movie with jeff danials (he was good in it but not his best) I did like the part where he was dancing (good physical comedy is his greatest bits) he had his moments but as far as story goes. I thought tim meadows and theold guy was much funnier.

it has a lot of potential. give it time and it should build into truely his show (for his name on the show I felt he was pushed in the back more)

If it's to be an ensemble cast then time will hopefully bring these characters into the fold a little more.

I like the idea they use 'familiar' characters in the series.

the Doctor attending to Vic was the Dr attending to Susan in the hospital. (and of course the finale episode)

Vic's 'first' customer/client was the Cabana-wear salesman from the ep when George was sellimng his father's clothes.

The pipe routine in the bar when Vic was tring to pickup the girls-classic Krameresque scene.

Staunch support from Seinfeld/Richards fans will keep the show afloat.

It can only get better. can't wait to see the ep from the commercial with Richards at the wheel of a car steering with a pipe wrench !!!

Well, it wasn't great, but it wasn't awful either. I didn't think Michael was as care-free as when he was playing Kramer. It just seemed to me like he was trying waaay too hard. But, I think the show does have a lot of potential. I'll keep watching. Brad

Yes, it did appear that Richards wasn't too comfortable. Gosh, how horrible that first pilot must've been when he was carrying the show by himself! If a sitcom is going to be given 13 shows, I'm glad it's this one. I just hope that there's more characterization in the coming episodes. It was pretty hard watching it objectively. It was almost like all the characters new that we were watching them for the first time. There's hope. Once they get comfortable, it could get moving. Of course, that's assuming that the writing is strong.

Tim Meadows asking if he was going to hell was funny. The funniest physical moment of comedy to me was when Mitch threw that ball at that kid.

So here's hoping for growth and laughs....

Personally, I thought the show was weak. It's too complicated trying to figure out who all these characters are when you haven't seen the pilot episode which was designed to establish that. Also, the laughtrack was used excessively, about twice as much as was necessary. It wouild have been funnier with no laughtrack at all.

Right off the bat, the show seems to take the format of joke-joke-joke, instead of character-character-joke which was such a successful ingredient of Seinfeld. Building up the characters and their motivations will lead to bigger laughs later on.

My favorite line of the show was Vic saying something like "Well, 103.5 FM just went Spanish. That's the third radio station I've lost this month!" It had that slice of life quality that people in Los Angeles (or any multicultural city) could easily relate to, in the same way that Jerry always had those keen observations about life in New York.

I really do want Michael Richards to do well. Maybe we'll just have to go by his rule of thumb and if he hasn't gotten into his character's hotzone by around Episode 13, then "yank it"! [the series]

That may not be a good thing. That helped kill _It's Like...you know_ which was set in LA. East coasters might not be able to relate. A prime example...use of mayo on a corned beef sandwich !!!

It seemed like Tim Meadows was on Ritalin or something. I like Tim Meadows too, but he was WAY too subdued for me. Come on Tim, give this guy some LIFE!!!!!

Michael seemed unsure of how much "Kramer" was going to be in Vic. There were some good "Kramer" moments; the pipe, the dancing, and the radio station "going Spanish" were a few.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Kramer, but it's bound to be just below the surface. I know Michael can do something good with Vic, the character has great potential and the premise is promising.

I really hope it shows signs of life quick or I'm afraid that 13 episodes just won't be enough to save it.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the "simulated sex" with the clients girlfriend.. in the hotel and again in the hospital. Very poorly done.. tacky.. offensive.. inappropriate [for the hour].. gratuitous.., etc.

Can you tell I didn't like it..

Whenever they run the second or third episode BEFORE the pilot... that spells big trouble.

And the warning was accurate- this show is a train wreck.

Needs to be retooled into a vehicle for his physical comedy- instead of trying to do both slapstick AND "clever". Can't have it both ways.
