Anyone seen that episode where Elaine has Sunday night fever and does this really funny dance. She kicks her legs and throws her thumbs in the air. Also in this episode, Jerry bootlegs video tapes. This is a funny funny episode, anyone agree.

There are indeed bootleg videos sold here in NYC that were made with camcorders in movie theaters. I don't purchase them, but I've heard that the quality varies, depending on the competence of the camcorder operator and the rowdiness of the audience (which is picked up by the microphone along with the soundtrack). Consumers have become wise, and many street vendors set up shop complete with TV/VCR combinations (and even portable generators) to show samples of the videos to skeptical customers. These camcorder videos typically hit the street within a few days of a film's New York premiere.
More sophisticated bootleggers transfer original 35mm prints directly to video. This requires specialized equipment that's readily available in NYC. Some of these bootleg videos even come out before the film does.
