i don't get this episode. george is trying to pull a co-worker, but the episodes before and the episodes after he's unemployed. how can he have a job for just one episode? it just doesn't make any sense to me.
am i missing something?

Sure he could, it's George... he could have a job for only half an episode.
He was interviewing (with spinach in his teeth) in the previous ep (The Nose Job). And in the next ep (The Alternate Side) he found temp employment parking cars for Sid, another one episode job stint. Maestro

"This episode was originally going to be broadcast during the second season on 17 Jul 91. Jerry comes on before the broadcast of this episode and explains that it is from the time before George lost his job and he wanted to "let you know, that we know, you know.""
He worked at Play Now for 2 weeks.
