FRASIER TO REPLACE SEINFELD

I just heard on the radio that NBC is very close to naming Frasier the successor to Seinfeld next fall. Since 1982, Thursday Nights 9 and 10 o'clock for NBC has always had their best comedy show and their best drama show on. NBC apparently feels that Frasier is the only show that can come close to plugging the hole left by Seinfeld's departure. 3rd Rock From the Sun may take over 9 o'clock spot on Tuesday Nights, Mad About You (if it returns) and Friends will stay in their positions. Also, television critics are naming FOX as the network that will give NBC a run for its money on the Thursday Night wars next spring. FOX, who's Sunday Night lineup is considered the best lineup in television, might put Ally McBeal or King of the Hill at their 9 o'clock spot.

To be honest, I can't see what the appeal of Frazier is. It's just not very funny to me.

There is nothing definite on who will replace Seinfeld. I do watch Frasier, but have found it less entertaining this year. Its dialogue remains witty and intelligent, but the show is getting too claustrophobic with so much (non)action in the Frasier living room.The focus on Roz's pregnancy has also slowed it down. It needs new blood, new settings, and more pizazz to be a fitting replacement for Seinfeld, IMHO. alt showbiz gossip

Unfortunately, there is no replacement for Seinfeld, the best show ever on TV. I doubt if there is a chance of someone making such a gr8 show in the future.

I like "Frasier" somewhat, and I can honestly say that would be a better choice than "Just Shoot Me". At least "Frasier" doesn't hide it's middle class ideals, the show rolls along right with 'em.
