The show is very funny and sometimes very clever. And sometimes its humour is sick humour. George is incapable of taking care of himself. So much of his conduct is self-destructive. Elaine appears incurably promiscuous. Cosmo intelligence emerges in bizarre projects. Jerry appears to be a success in his occupation and is generous. But does he not have other friends, other than these three bizarre persons? None of the four worries about STD. The three men perceive women as if they lived in pre-World War years. Seldom does the plot of the evening acknowledge the deterioration of the city, the ethnic enmities among the various groups, the conditions of the public schools, the corruption of public and private officials, and agencies, the police among them.
So one laughs and one wonders later why?
