Couple of possible Binaries groups.. (both of which are practically empty!)

De.Alt.Binaries.MSDos.D (Dead.. Can't see this one ever growing!) Alt.Binaries.tv.Us-sitcoms (more suited, and empty, but likely to erupt eventually!)

Anywhere but here. :-) This is a text-only newsgroup, and messages with binary attachments are a bad thing--they push thousands of text messages off the news servers, can result in ISP's dropping this newsgroup, etc. etc. etc.

It may be more convenient for episode traders to find one of the deserted binary groups you mentioned and meet there. That way you can post episodes and requests, and this text newsgroup could stay focused on its real purpose of discussing Seinfeld. Thanks!

I can't say I have any good suggestions for where to post them, but I would definitely be interested in an episode-a-day thing.

Instead of setting up a news server, simply use an existing binaries group. As another poster suggested, try the alt.binaries.tv.us-sitcoms group.

Hey that would be great, i could probably post too... if only i knew how though :) I need around 30 more episodes though, would be nice if some people could fill request. But none of those "hey i need all 180 episodes, please post asap" requests.

Whoa hold on, i just check those two groups De.Alt.Binaries.MSDos.D and Alt.Binaries.tv.Us-sitcoms and @home doesnt carry those. How about we find one that @home does carry, it doesnt take long for use cable guys to upload 1 episode anyway.

The majority of these people in here like John Twernbold despise this type of behavior. He is one who will make his voice heard; the others are silent until an all out flame war begins on the topic. The silent ones are who you need to worry about.

Those people are into uploading and downloading episodes via ftp. They have a message board that you can discuss this activity.

thats all fantastic, but until this group is renamed alt.tv.seinfeld.johntwernbold, his opinion amounts to less than a gnat fart in a hurricane. If you dont want to trade episodes, then DONT.. but dont try and tell everyone else whats in their best interest... that kind of attitude is what gets ameicans in trouble these days.

Sorry, but this text-only newsgroup is for discussion of Seinfeld. That's why there are tens of thousands of newsgroups: each has an intended purpose. If you want to trade Seinfeld episodes, charter a new newsgroup (you could call it alt.binaries.tv.seinfeld), use an existing newsgroup (alt.binaries.tv.us-sitcoms), use IRC, or meet at an existing website (http://episodes4all.cjb.net/).

We've had this debate a number of times in here before. The bottom line: most of us want to find like-minded people. Traders want to hook up with traders, and Seinfeld-discussers want to have discussions about Seinfeld. If there's a place where the traders can get together and actually *post* their episodes (as well as advertisements, etc.), then it's in everyone's best interest. You won't have Seinfeld fans asking you to stop posting trading messages, and we won't have endless posts asking for episodes. Everyone's happy.

im sorry, i wasn't advocating that we post binaries here, i was just saying that if someone (such as i did a few weeks ago) wants to post their FTP address so folks can trade episodes, then there shouldn't be someone else telling me that im not allowed to do that because they dont think its right. in short: trade episodes if you want.. just dont do it here, and if you dont like the idea of trading episodes, then dont do it. However, DONT tell everyone else that they cant do it either.
