I just saw the movie "North" which is only average, except for the opening scenes of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander as a bickering couple who drive their son crazy. It is worth watching just for them.
I also recommend a truly excellent comedy, "Trial and Error" with Michael Richards playing an actor substituting for his lawyer friend. He is just as quirky and funny as his Kramer character. "Airheads" is also worth watching for his small role (it also features Chris Farley in a small role as a cop).
As for Jason Alexander's new movie, "Love! Valour! Compassion!", it is completely concerned with gay men (not that there is anything wrong with that) and seeing him in drag and screaming like Nathan Lane is a little different. I didn't like the movie, as I thought it was tedious with poor dialogue. The tragedy of dying of AIDS has been done more effectively in "Philadelphia" and "Boys on the Side".
Jason directed and starred in a little romantic comedy called "For Better or Worse" which although silly, is sweet and has some good gags.
But the best one by far is "Unstrung Heroes" with Michael Richards as a quirky obsessive. He plays those roles so well.
