Difficult question > Which hotel is this in the episode ?

Hi,

I've got quite the difficult trivia question. In episode S5 - E14 - The Marine Biologist, the Russian author is staying in a hotel in the city. When Jerry and Elaine go up to his room (with the taperecorder), you can get a glimpse of the outside of the hotel. Which hotel is this ?

Do you have the episode on tape ? I can't find the 'real' Dorian hotel, but I did find a hotel that looks just like the one used in the episode: The Algonquin

I checked the video of the episode and "The Dorian Hotel" is placed over the Marquee of the real Algonquin Hotel. Everything else in the picture is the same; the brick and stone work, the awnings, the three planters in the front, the number and placement of the windows, . . .

I think the photo used in the Seinfeld episode is an older one and there have been some cosmetic changes to the Algonquin since that photo was taken but the structures are exactely the same.

How the heck did you find it?

I stayed at the Algonquin twice whilst in NYC
