The more I read this moaning about the death of Susan, the more ridiculous it gets.
In the first place, she was an utterly annoying character. Even by the standards of the other 4, she was insufferable. Telling her groom who he can or cannot have stand up at their wedding? The other characters are immature and selfish, but generally supportive of each other. Susan was a total witch from the word go.
Killing her off, especially trying to lick poisoned envelopes that George made her buy because he was so cheap, was delicious!
I think most of this rightious indignation is a put-on....but for those of you who are serious......Leave it to Beaver is still syndicated fairly widely.

In the first place, she wasn't utterly annoying to all of us. I tend to set my standard for what is insufferable a little higher than a group of 4 shallow egocentric characters. The fact that she was particularly disagreeable in the finale is the writers' failed attempt to cushion the blow of her death. To make it more acceptable. If you want to discuss the relationship they have for each other than why not point out that Elaine really doesn't like George all that much. She only tolerates him because he's Jerry's friend. As to her commitment to Kramer, I think she'd sell him out in a heartbeat if it would benefit her.
In past seasons and even past episodes this season, they have been portrayed as shallow and self-serving but more recently the writers have made them more like Newman.
The irony doesn't escape me and I would have thought the whole premise was alot funnier if Susan had been a totally despicable and malicious person like Locklear's character on Melrose Place.
I take this to mean that you think that everyone who is put off by the way the writers dealt with this situation are children. That we don't appreciate adult humor if we liked Susan and are offended that the writers couldn't be a little more creative. I guess we're fortunate that there are more enlightened people around to show us how ridiculous we really are.
No. Look, surprisingly to me, I guess a lot of people actually DID like the Susan character. For the life of me, I'll never understand why, but so be it. I apologize if I came off as patronizing.

Really. Now, had it been Marissa Tormei I might not have grinned quite as widely. The gal who played Susan will do well by having had such a long stretch on the show. I've got to say how "beautiful" a job it was when she rolled her eyes up and keeled over. George, George, George. Simply said, Sue Baby's passing was nothing more or less than the same old recurring theme on...well...who had to go with the bargain basement invitations? It wasn't hilarious, but I'll welcome any such darkness over the alternative listings yeah that's right...any day of the week.

I disagree totally with this series of statements. There was little if anything annoying about Susan's characer and certainly not anything that even remotely compares with the other five major characters (the Fizzling Four and Newman). She was certainly not a witch and I don't think you have any evidence to back that up since she wasn't deliberately mean to anyone at anytime. If anything she bent over backwards for that neurotic lunatic George and his three heartless friends and was rewarded by constant complaining from George about it. Incidentally, the reaction over the death is mostly negative because of the fact that the ending was pathetic, tasteless, and poorly concieved. There are a million other ways they could have ended the wedding that would have been much funnier.
Uh-huh. She had to die--she was annoying! Killing her off was delicious! Yeah, right.

Hello -- this is fiction, folks. These are fictional characters. Nobody really died. This is comedy. People who liked the season finale are not vicious meanies. People who weren't outraged by the season finale aren't either. I repeat -- this is comedy and fiction.
