Seinfeld a joke thief?

According to one of Washington's local radio stations, comedian/gender relations analyst, Rob "Defending the Caveman" Becker, came up with the remote control/hunters and gatherers joke last year (6/93) - and they had tape to prove it (plus I remember I heard it and passed it on to others at the time).

For those of you who are confused, the joke goes something like this (this is *not* a quote from Seinfeld 5/5):

"Men flip between channels to see what else is on television because they are naturally hunters and gatherers. Women leave it on one station because they are nesters."

Now, Becker's whole show is based on the differences between men and women, and therefore I tend towards his side in this. The show played for a long time in DC before moving to Philly and now Chicago, so plenty of opportunities for Jerry to see the show. I can only hope that he would not commit this major comedic plagiarism (see the movie "Stand-Up" for a good discussion of the ramifications of this crime).

---- Wait a minute....you haven't been Seinfeld that long have you? Jerry was cracking on himself. There was an episode a few years back where Jerry used that "women nest and men hunt" line in reference to the TV remote. He actually used it in his TV stand-up segment. That joke was his well before 1993...so you needn't worry about stolen jokes. I'll try to find out what episode in particular it was in.
