Ugliest World Leader
Fans discuss which world leader is the ugliest, with Noriega mentioned as a leading candidate and Golda Meir referenced from the episode.

^^^^^^^ i think he qualifies more for the ugliest con of all time, since he isn't a world leader anymore. anyway, elaine summed it up with : "I got news for you, Golda Meir can make them all run up a tree" (probably not exactly quoted)

Not even close. It's Rep. Henry Gonzalez (D-Tex).

I don't think that a US Rep. counts as a World Leader (tm).

A very stand-up guy - Jerry Seinfeld
He's television's most audacious comic; his precedent-smashing weekly half hour is a hit even with fans who otherwise shun the tube.
By Peggy Mulloy
"Stand-up is still the number one most important thind I do," says Jerry Seinfeld, and he's not talking about the pithy bits that open and close his hit NBC series. He means one guy, one mike, and a roomful of strangers - a hit of pure adrenaline he needs at least once a week. "To be a comedian, you have to exercise the muscle constantly. You don't do it and it just goes away."
Back in 1977, when Seinfeld turned in his waiter's apron to become a full-time stand-up, he couldn't have guessed that one day he'd star in his own subversivelt hip TV series, not to mention a series of American Express commercials. He wasn't counting on an apartment overlooking Central Park, a movie-star mansion in the Hollywood hills, or five cars either. Comedy was the only thing on his mind. "The rest is detail. When I was able to say, `I'm a comedian, that's all I do' - that's still the biggest moment of his life."
Sixteen years later, his focus remains rock-steady: "I feel very privileged, you know? People are baffled by how easygoing I am. To me, it's all Disneyland."
You have to work hard in Seinfeld's Disneyland, though; long hours and seven-day weeks are routine. A relentless observer, he is constantly trolling for the inocuous incident that can be massaged into material. Part smart aleck, part philosopher, he makes the mundane engrossing and the accepted improbable.
That Zenlike focus doesn't mean he's a saint, though. Seinfeld as provocateur is ready and willing to take on such tough guys as radio shock jock Howard Stern. "He's obnoxious," Seinfeld says, "and mentally very agile. I like people like that. I like to try to pin them."
Stern might well have enjoyed Seinfeld's private musings at last year's Emmy Awards. "When Ted Turner got up and made his acceptance speech, I was thinking about Jane Fonda and How I have no Idea of what it would be like to have sex with Ted Turner. And I have no idea of what it would be like to have sex with Tom Hayden. But it's got to be real different."
Women may be hard to figure, but Seinfeld never stops trying. "To me, being with a woman is like being with a foreigner," he declares, keeping an eye on the reactions of this foreign correspondent sitting across the table from him. "You always wanna go, `Well, how are things done in your country? What do your people talk about? what is this `earth love' you speak of?'"
He's kidding, but he does believe a viable relationship requires humor. "Comedy is about perception, and to me, a good relationship is about two people's points of view playing well together - someone you enjoy comparing notes with. And I take a lotta notes."
It's easy to imagine Seinfeld filling vaults with those notebooks, because he does not seem to lack feminine company. Women who date him know their next move could become his next joke: "That's the ground rule: Everything's fair game." So what else does he like in a woman? "Whatever is good," he told Barbara Walters last November. "Good-looking, smart, sexy...good. ...I tend not to like ugly, dumb, hostile women."
Seinfeld admits to me, after a pregnant pause, that he prefers a relationship to dating, but he's conflicted. "It's like shopping. It's nice to find something you like - but nice to go shopping too." At 38, with national notoriety, a full head of hair, and no noticeable flab, he is content to be in the shopping phase. His romantic resume includes one five-year relationship as well as an engagement he broke. And he swears he's not the jealous type: "I'm too cocky."
His favorite kind of date is dinner and a movie, but he can be coaxed to the ballet or opera. "I don't usually initiate things outside my pattern, but I will `come with.'"
How does he know when a relationship's getting serious? His TV character nailed it in a recent episode: If your phone-call frequency is anywhere near daily, and she has anything in your medicne cabinet, and you've got an implied Saturday night date, and - the ultimate test - there are Tampax in your house, you've got yourself a girlfriend!

Does Hillary Clinton count as a world leader?
What are you talking about? Hillary's a babe! Actually, she sort of looks like a chipmonk.
Chelsea, unfortunately, looks a bit too much like Bill....
FRIENDSHIP FOR ACCOUNTANTS: Q: "Will you do me a favor?" A: "Although you did me several favors in the past, they've depreciated down to nothing. I can, however, advance you a small mini-favor on credit at prime + 2% on the condition that you reciprocate within a year."
I saw a picture of Barbara Bush and Hilary Clinton together.
I could not believe that Bar's legs looked 1000% better than
Ms. Rodman's!! Also, Hilary without a professional make-over
is a *very* scary sight...well, I'd like to try one round of slam the salami with Hilary, just to be able to say... hmm.. bill... you're wife, she's not that great.
don't know what this has to do with Seinfeld, but I'm drunk, I'm readin' news, and I ain't gonna pass up the chance to blast bill
I don't care if you were drunk, obviously you're a ignorant, red-neck moron (sorry for the redundancy). Regardless of the physiological circumstances, you r comments are innappropriate, rude and simply not even close to funny... --- Kevin
Quite possibly one of the most honest posts I have ever read... (Who would admit to wanting Hillary?)....
Keep drinking Bill...
Got any Scotch?
I just heard Eric Clapton sing "Tears in Heaven" on the grammys... I love it..... he is winning everything!

So far for ugliest world leader of all time we have: Golda Meir II Brezhnev II Noriega II Abraham Lincoln I Rep. Henry Gonzalez I Yassar Arafat I
As for the person who suggested Hillary Clinton, BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! I agree with the person who thought Hillary was a babe.
Place your bets . . .

Tough luck. I also vote for Hillary and that gives her 2 votes and ties her for the lead. So put her on the list!

Er, may we ask _why_ you consider Hillary to be Ugliest World Leader? Remember, we're judging on physical appearance, not policy (to keep that can of worms closed in this newsgroup), not personality (if so, we can cheerfully plunk Bob Dole on there).
Trying desperately to keep the can of worms closed...Did you see her during that speech to Congress last week. She had these cheeks like sink-holes. Looked positively victorian. Anyway all of this may be moot because as soon as Carter, er Clinton starts taking advice from Amy, er Chelsea, then she's got my vote hands down!
- Bob
What is this? A double standard?
Besides, even if Bill Clinton was married to a Playmate of the Month, I still wouldn't vote for him. (Although I would have a hell of a lot more respect for him)
Is Hillary Clinton a world leader?

What about Fearless Leader, of Bullwinkle and Rocky fame? The scar and the eyepatch pretty much do it for me.
I think everyone is forgetting the most obvious choice---Margaret Thatcher!! She has got to be the ugliest woman in history.
In article jimbo@csusb writes:
How can you say this about the Iron Lady? Her husband was pretty ugly, and probably senile during the majority of her tenure as well. :-)
Now had the old lady Elaine talked with on last week's episode were a world leader (hey! she did the wild thing with Mahatma Gandhi!) I think she would qualify!
