I know we've had polls regarding what commercial brands of food seinfeld has on his show, but I don't know if we've ever had a discussion of whether the subtle and not-so-subtle advertising has gotten you to eat those foods.

Things to note:

I've been eating more Twix lately than usual.
I tried Jujyfruits after seeing the Seinfeld episode.
I started eating Junior Mints after "The Junior Mint" again.
I bought a marble rye once last year.

How about you...

In fact, the Kenny Rogers Roasters in Lake Worth, FL (right next to Palm Beach) has gone belly up as well. I can imagine Kramer singing "you've picked a fine time to leave me lucille"

Actually the finest chicken can be found at KOO-KOO-ROO-my son and i brought a picnic box from Koo-Koo-Roo and like an advertisemet-over 20 people came up to us and offered to buy some from us

There was an article in Forbes' magazine about a year ago about "product placement". It seems a good ancillary source of income for these production companies. It did focus on the junior mints and the article stated that the original line of the doctor when offered the candy was going to be, "No thanks those things will kill you".

Among other things it also mentioned how the M&M people blundered when they refused to supply the maker of E.T. the extraterrestrial in exchange for a free product placement, the movie simply substituted M&M's with Reeces pieces...and their sales increased five fold the first 6 months the movie was out.

I was once watching a Seinfeld episode where George was eating Pringles. I immediately ran to the cabinet and got Pringles of my own.

I did the same thing once after watching the Junior Mint episode in syndication. As soon as the show ended I hopped in my car and went to the 7-11 to buy a box!
