Fans question why "The Pony Remark" episode rarely airs in syndication, speculating it may have been controversial due to its plot about offending an elderly relative who then dies.

I have been watching the syndicated airings of Seinfeld for over a year now on Fox, and I have yet to see them air "The Pony Remark" episode, where, according to the episode listing at http://www.cec.wustl.edu/~kdm1/seineps.txt:

"Jerry offends an elderly relative at a family gathering, and she then dies"

Did this episode get a lot of hate mail or something? Knowing people and corporations, I can imagine how that episode might, and no one would show it after that. Does anyone have an explanation of this episode's relative absence? How in the heck do "they" decide which episodes to show? Often the episodes follow roughly in the order they were shown originally, but only for a few episodes in a row.

(Come to think of it, the pilot "Seinfeld Chronicles" is (almost) never aired either .... I'm patiently waiting for it to show up again!)

I remember seeing it a couple of months ago,but they don't air it that much.Maybe you're right it was a controversial one..."The Contest" and the one where Susan dies I've only have seen once on fox as well.
