"late shift" actors

bob balaban seems to have found his expertise: playing nbc executives. he played warren littlefield in tonight's very strange and not very good hbo special, "the late shift". we know him as russell dalrimple, the [fictional] nbc executive who greenlighted "jerry", fell for elaine, and died trying to improve himself for her in a greenpeace demonstration.

also in "the late shift" was reni santoni, playing john (agnogni), another nbc executive who was and is littlefield's partner. he played poppie in three seinfelds.

well well well, my congratulations to you, my seinfeld lovin' brother... i do indeed care, because it's nice to know that someone else out there has noticed the same things that i take so much pleasure in noticing. in fact, these little tidbits sprang to mind when i first saw "the late shift". I felt it was a very shrewd casting move on the part of the casting directors of "the late shift". I was cheering out loud when i noticed russell playing warren littlefield. i also noticed poppy playing john aglolia, but, only after one or two viewings of the movie (i have it on tape). This was all before reading your astute observations on this newsgroup.
