episode w/no laughs

I never thought I'd say this but I just saw the first Seinfeld episode that didn't elicit even one audible laugh from me. It's the one where the marathon runner has to get up on time for his race and they have the problems with the alarm clock etc. They cann't all be great but this one didn't do it for me. I'd be interested to know if this might be someones favorite (just to show how subjective this all is). Steve

actually although the marathon runner wasn't filled with humorous moments i did find the part where elaine finally gets a story for the hymalian walking boots quite amusing, especially where she put both fists in the air and the camera swirls around her because it is something that george had done before to signify either triumph and agony.

It might not be my favorite, but I had a good time.

I thought the marathon runner was ok, but there are the occasional episodes that fall short. Like the final episode, the backwards episode(cool to watch once), and although it is famous, the chinese resturant episode, I did not exactly get that one, otherwise, I'd say 90-95percent of the shows were great. It was not full of really great laughs but was a bold creative experiment in TV sit-com history. It was done in real time in the restaurant waiting area- no scene changes, time lapses, etcetera. What you see was filmed as if it were live. 22 minutes was 22 minutes.

Other shows have done the real-time thing, and better... I agree, "The Chinese Restaurant" was boring

It goes to show how subjective all this is, because the backwards episode is my all time favorite, not only in seinfeld, but in any sitcoms I have ever seen.

To find the least funny Seinfeld episodes, you're wisest to concentrate on the first three seasons but you picked one from the glory years. IMO of course.
