Play themselves/observations

Besides Jerry, people who have played themselves on the show:

Paul O'Neill, Danny Tartabull,George Wendt, Corbin Bernsen,Fred Savage,
Jay Leno, Pat Cooper,David Letterman,Regis and Joy Philbin,Bryant
Gumbel, Al Roker. Let me know if I missed anyone.
      It is sad to see the show go, but it sucks now anyway, so in a way
it is good to see it go. Jerry wanted to leave before it started to suck,
but
it is too late so he might as well have come back next season.
                I think the 94-95 season sucking has been overstated. The
show got off to a
good start and then sucked the last part of that season. There were good
eps from that season.What about The Assman? The gymnast, The Soup
The Secretary, The Mango were all good.

Joe DiMaggio(sp) and wasn't Kathy Lee with Regis for the coffee table book.

You left out Candace Bergen, Raquel Welch, Buck Showalter, Jim Fowler, Jon Voigt and Alex Trebek (who was shown on the TV George was watching).

Joe DiMaggio did NOT appear, though they used an actor to portray him. That brings up an interesting question. How many celebrities can we think of who were portrayed on Seinfeld but not by the actual person? I can think of these:

Joe DiMaggio George Steinbrenner Salmon Rushdie (sp?) Monica Seles

There must be others??

My recollection is Candace played herself playing Murphy Brown. Kramer got a bit part on the Murphy Brown show playing Murphy's secretary. That's different from saying Candace appeared as Murphy Brown (as though Murphy were a real person).

Some of the other sports guys on the show, playing themselves, were Paul O'Neill (the one Kramer told the kid would hit two homeruns), Danny Tartabull, and after their World Series victory, Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams. Of course they were all Yankees while Keith Hernandez was a Met.

Correction. It was Kathy lee with Regis. I must have been thinking about Joy Philbin with Regis when they did Mad About You together. Regis also did Hope And Gloria, I think with Joy. I am sorry about the mistake. I am mad at myself I tried to put together a good and correct list!
