Okay, first I wanted to say that The Cartoon was very good (if you actually got the jokes and have a sense of humor) A lot of parts were funny, like when Kramer imitated Frank and Estelle mute, when Newman said "Finally, a show about something!" and then he looked right at Jerry, when George, Elaine and George were studying the comic and Elaine said to Jerry "Come on, we are two very intellegent people here", when George saw his girlfriend in Jerry's haircut (predictable, but George's reaction "George is in trouble!" was very funny) and the whole relationship between Sally and Jerry was very funny. This episode was probably the best display of George's neurosis, not his scheming, not his loathing, not his screaming, his neurosis. Elaine's subplot wasn't anything special, it had its moments like when she finally completed her cartoon and Jerry and Kramer added jokes that would've been better. I was disappointed in one thing, that when Jerry and George were saying "That doesn't mean I'm gay," I was waiting and expecting them to say "not if there's anything wrong with it" but it never happened.
One other thing, did you notice that Just Shoot Me (good episode) and Veronica's Closet (bad episode) dealt with subjects (people thinking you're gay when you're not and....you know) that wouldn't have been dealt with if Seinfeld hadn't come on the air.
