Seinfeld sighting on Murphy Brown

The guy in the car was supposed to be Andy Rooney. He was mentioned earlier in the show.

And him being injured would help CBS's Thursday line-up?

No way!! It was OBVIOUSLY Seinfeld. They'd just been talking about the Thursday night line-up....

Paul Reubans was great.

I hope he gets more work....

I knew who it was supposed to be before I even heard the whine, because the writers did their job setting up the scene. My question is, was Jerry offered a guest appearance or voice over? If so, did he turn it down for scheduling, competition, or economic reasons?

BTW, Paul Reubens was hysterical! I think that was the first time an episode of Murphy Brown made me laugh out loud.

I agree it was funny. But did his act on that episode remind you (or anyone else) of Rowan Atkinson on the Black Adder (I)? That whole bit with the bowing exit seemed to have been lifted wholesale from Rowan Atkinson's shtick.

I can't agree. Along with the Seinfeld-ish dialog, there was one other clue. The car itself. Jerry is a notorious Porsche-lover.
