Fans try to recall Kramer's complete quote comparing something to "one hour martinizing" as a scam, with suggestions it involves a vacuum cleaner or laundry service.
Kramer said "blah blah 'is the biggest scam perpetrated on the american people since one hour martinizing."
It's a great line but does anyone know what the above blah blah is? Also, I'd like to know what the other scam he refers to is? 1 hour martinizing? I'm drawing a blank.
I'm blanking on the line too, but here are a few things that I remember which might help:
It was in "The Suicide." Kramer and Newman were sitting in Martin's hospital room talking. George had gone off in search of the psychic and Elaine was waiting for her ulcer test. Jerry wasn't in the room, but he entered a little later with two Drake's coffee cakes and used them to keep Newman quiet about him and Gina.
That's all I can think of...anyone else? Again, the line is:
KRAMER: _____ is the biggest scam perpetrated on the American people since one-hour martinizing.
Side note: The one-hour martinizing scam is discussed in Jerry's book "Seinlanguage." Also...someone's bound to say that Kramer was referring to the Dewey decimal system. That was from "The Library." This is something different.

One hour martinizing has to do with Laundry and Cleaners during the early 80s
It's something to do with a certain type of vacuum cleaner, dirt buster perhaps?

I think this was it because the plot line went that Kramer was ticked he couldn't get his vacuum back from Martin (coma) and Newman wanted to lend him his carpet sweeper.

One-Hour Martinizing is the same as One-Hour Dry Cleaning. Have you ever tried to get something cleaned in one hour? It's nearly impossible. Once I took some skirts into the One Hour Cleaners (actual name of store) and they told me it would be 6 days. I guess some stores will clean shirts (maybe more) in one hour if you get them there by said hour in the morning.

the k-man wasn't talking about the carpet sweeper was he? i remember on one episode he was telling newman that carpet sweepers don't work and newman, who uses one, was saying that they do.
