The Red Light

Does anyone know what the name of this episode was? It was the one with the red light outside Kramer's appartment. Something was banging on his door too and he was afraid of it so he and Jerry traded rooms.

That was Ep 134 "The Chicken Roaster" Kramer protests the Kenny Rogers Roasters store across the street because of the annoying red light, but then he and Newman become obsessed with the food there. He and Jerry trade rooms and Jerry starts to act like Kramer because of all of the weird stuff that happens during the night. Kramer also starts to act like Jerry because he's staying in Jerry's apt. That's also the famous "Vile weed!" line from Newman when he has to eat the broccoli.

That is episode 134 (The Chicken Roaster).. Kenny Rogers opens one of his chicken franchises next to Jerry and Kramer's building, and the neon chicken that is placed above the restaurant as a sign shines bright red light into Jerry's apartment... meanwhile, Jerry sees one of his old friends (that he knew through someone named MOOCHY) and convinces him to go to lunch, even though his old friend says he has a meeting to go to. Later, Jerry finds out that his friend got fired for skipping the meeting, and is now working at the Kenny Rogers Roasters restuarant... Kramer tries to protest the restaurant by hanging a big sign outside of his window demeaning the restaurant... Jerry thinks this will close the restaurant and his friend who works there will be out of ANOTHER job... so Jerry makes a deal with Kramer to switch apts so that he won't hang the sign... (then Kramer and Newman get addicted to the chicken)

Episode: The Chicken Roaster

You are acutally mixing up two different episodes. "the chicken Roaster" and "the Jimmy Legs". Kramer hears Mortie Seinfeld exercising and using his door knob. That's why he asks his girfriend is he can spend the night even though she has the Jimmy Legs.

The reason Jerry and Kramer switched apartments is because Kramer is a light sleeper, except when he feel asleep in the freezing cold hot tub.

By the way, how come Jerry says things are ckeaking and cracking all night long in Kramer's apartment but not in his own?

They did a nice job of Jerry and Kramer reversing personas. I think just they wanted Jerry to deliver a line like Kramer did when he talked about his boxer shorts 'flippin and floppin'.
