Yates quote on Kramer's birthday card?

What was the Yates quote on the birthday card Kramer gave to Elaine in "The Deal?" I remember something about "where glory begins and ends," and it ends with "that I had such a friend." Anybody?

Funny, I've seen is spelled Yates and Yeats, with Yeats being the far
more common spelling, unless they're two different poets?  How many
William Butler's can there be?

Yes, Yates and Yeats are two different poets, though their names are pronounced the same. I think the quotation is likely to be from Yates, not Yeats.

So you're saying there are TWO different poets:

William Butler Yates. William Butler Yeats.

I don't get it. Did they know each other? Was this a joke their parents' played?

BTW, I got the quote from a full back page ad in an entertainment industry magazine celebrating the 100th Anniversary, and it was attributed to "Yates".

It's spelled 'William Butler Yeats' on his gravestone in County Sligo, Ireland so they probably got it right there.

Anyway, the Ph.D. comes in handy once a year or so:

William Butler Yeats was an Irish poet of the late 19th and early 20th century. He is probably most well known for a poem called "The Second Coming," which is a staple of most lit anthologies.

Richard Yates was an American novelist of the 20th century who died in 1992. His most well known work is likely Revolutionary Road, which won a National Book Award or something else in the early 60s.

Any other Yates/Yeats out there?
