With the Indians winning last night it means that there will be a game on Thursday night. Was Seinfeld going to run a new show or old one??

No they wouldn't get nearly the same ratings on a Friday. People are not going to cancel their plans for Friday night, the begining of a weekend, just to watch NBC line up. It would be an absurd waste of an epsiode to do so. Jason

The baseball owners and players have made the game so unpopular that Captain Kangaroo would get better ratings than baseball. NBC execs must be kicking themselves for paying so much money for the world series, which has the lowest ratings of any world series. Winter baseball is so much fun.

Sorry, there was a SECOND spitter. Back and to the left!

Actually, Roger McDowell was the one who did the spitting

That episode is one of my all-time favorites, with or without baseball. But don't forget, it was that merry prankster Roger McDowell who actually provided the magic loogy.

I don't think that NBC actually knew that the Indians and the Marlins would be in the Series. That's the main reason that there are such low ratings. I am a huge baseball fan, but I definitely think that Seinfeld is better.

World Champion sellouts, you might say. Like buying a World Series is something new. Like owners haven't been doing it for 30 years. Your jealousy is showing, Rick. Better tuck it in. As far as bandwagon jumping, well, you know they've only been a team for 5 years, right? It's not like I can say I've been a fan for my whole life, right? We're all bandwagon jumpers. Jumped from whatever team they used to root for over to the best team in baseball for 1997.

Anyway, yes I do have the jersey, wore it to Game 1, as a matter of fact. You see, I've been a Dodger fans for 20 years, but, living in South Florida, it's always been a bitch to get to a game, ya know? So, 5 years ago, I get a local team. Great. Now I get the Dodgers twice a year. Well, a home team can grow on you. 5 years later, I still love the Dodgers like Seinfeld, but will root my heart out for the Marlins where the Dodgers are no longer concerned. If LA had beaten SF, you bet your ass I would have backed LA against Fla, but once LA was eliminated, well, the choice was easy.

Anyway, gotta run. Ya see, they've got this huge ticker tape parade planned today, culminating with a massive 'love fest' at Joe Robbie Stadium tonight. Can't wait to get out there and show the Fish how much we appreciate the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP that they just won from Cleveland.

To all, sorry for the off-topic response, but I was goaded. [email] (Hammer nail here--> <-- for a new monitor.) (Remove XXXX to reply)

Well than i think you have a problem if your life is based around a tv show. Dont get me wrong, it is my favorite show, but lets not get carried away.

Sorry Rick, but baseball isn't the sport that is paying $120 million to players in their 3rd season in the league. In baseball, there is some overpaying of players, but it is not as ridiculous as the NBA because the maximum salary is about $12 million a year, not $35 million in the NBA. Until the wild card system was created for baseball (done to capitalize on extra playoff revenue like in hockey) the regular season in baseball was the only one that mattered. I am a bigger fan of hockey than baseball, but the regular season in the NHL means nothing. Were you outraged when the San Jose Sharks beat the Red Wings in their first playoff appearance? Were you insulted when the Panthers made it to the finals in 3 seasons? Didn't the Rangers try to buy a Stanley Cup by trading for Gretzky, and resigning him, as well as bringing in Mark Messier, and then trying to buy Joe Sakic (forcing the Avalanche to make some "last minute" arena deals to get the necessary cash to match the offer sheet).

Continuing the move farther away from discussion on Seinfeld.
