why is Jerry grinning

its a small thing but why does Jerry have a stupid grin when he tells a great joke? Is he just toying with the audience?

How much longer do you predict the show might go on?

The one thing I think spoils the show is that when Jerry gets really angry, he seems to have a stupid grin on his face.

We just saw "The Seinfeld Chronicles" (episode no.1) in Australia and I was amazed at how much it was different from present day Seinfeld. It looked like Roseanne! With the way they shot the restaurant before going inside, The waitress making smart-ass comments and the stupid music at the beginning.

Also, at the beginning of the show, The cast names came up on the screen, the third one which was 'Lee.....' something, I thought I'd seen before, I think it was the name of the woman who tried out for Elaine in the "Jerry pilot" episode. Am I right?

I agree. I think much of the time they have to cut the camera away from him and to the other actor to avoid showing Jerry crack up on camera. You could tell he is not that good at keeping a straight face. The actor who plays George, however, is great at keeping a straight face, has great timing, and is a great comic actor in general.

Naturally the actors would NOT laugh at type 1, but WOULD laugh at 2) in much the same way WE WOULD in the same situation.

Maybe you're seeing Jerry play a reaction to a 2-type.

I agree. I mean imagine filming that show. I'd be cracking up myself. I think it's funny when he has that grin on his face. :)

Late last night (Sunday) I saw a kind of "Best of Barbara Walters" interview with Jerry Seinfeld which must have been done about 4 years ago. She mentions his smiling during the filming, and he responds, quite unabashedly "Well, I can't act." But other comics (I'm thinking of Red Skelton) used to laugh at their own material all the time.

My favorite moment when Jerry seems just about to crack up is in The Junior Mint episode, when they're about to go watch Triangle Boy's operation, and he says, "Let's go watch 'em slice this fat bastard up." I don't think I could say that line with a straight face either!
