First Timer asks: What's with Elaine's Hair????

Forgive me if this has been discussed, but I could only go back so many postings on this newsgroup.

I gotta say I think the new Elaine/hair thing is a mistake. The first time my husband and I saw it, we thought it was a *joke*. Yet the hair continued. And Elaine's character is now as flat as her locks.

I wonder if they're trying to make her more of a "babe" like the chicks on "Friends." If so, that would be very sad.

The writing hasn't always been the greatest for that character, but Julia Louis-Dreyfuss always did her best with what she had. In her curly-haired days (that seems so long ago now), she was earthier and more fun. Now she seems brittle, caustic and, well, not funny.

I'd love to hear a response to this. Seeing as how this is a very busy newsgroup, e-mails would be good, too.

My theory is that she's doing it to didsance herself a little bit from her character, so that she will be able to find other roles later. It's a terrible thing for an actor/actress to be typecast. Look at poor Ed O'Neil (Al Bundy).....
