What the hell did the people who make "Seinfeld" think when they made this atrocious season finale? Humorous deaths have long been a part of "Seinfeld," but is there ANYONE out there who thinks killing off George's long time fiancee Susan (and George's appalling lack of grief in the closing credits) is anything other than a hideously grotesque slap in the face of the "Seinfeld" audience?

What are they going to do to top this next season? Why not have Elaine suffer a brutal gang rape and have Jerry, George, and Kramer spend an episode cracking jokes at Elaine's expense? Or perhaps have Jerry go out and get drunk and kill some people in a drunk driving accident? That would be real funny. "Seinfeld" producers have shown that they think George's stinginess was a good reason for George's fiancee to die licking envelopes, why not have George's subsequent sexual frustrations serve as humorous pre-text for his molesting a nine year-old girl?

And if Susan's "death" turns out to be a mistake next fall, that will certainly be the biggest insult to a TV audience since the infamous Bobby Ewing in the shower "Dallas" fiasco.

I have a theory that the creators and actors REALLY WANT to stop doing the show but find it impossible as long as it is a #1 hit! My take on the "Dead Susan" episode (it really was horrific and totally un-Seinfeldian) is that they are intentionally trying to alienate the "Seinfeld" audience so that they can gracefully (?) take the show off the air.

I half-expected the final scene of the episode to be Jerry calling the stationery company to ask if they had any more of those invitations.

Just as a postscript: Wouldn't the stationery company be incredibly liable for selling envelopes with "toxic glue?" Maybe the opening episode next season will be George filing a "wrongful death" suit using Johnnie Cochran-like lawyer Jackie Childs. Now THAT would be funny!

i thought the show was overall very funny. i also discounted the rumors that susan would be killed off of the show, and i agree that this was handled poorly. george has done some sleezy things, but he knew susan too well to take delight in her death.

i loved how jerry got into the same situation george got in in "the engagement", and they used the same scenes except with jerry at the beach runing through the birds.

anyone notice that the doctor was the same doctor from "The Junior Mint?"

also, a reference to The Drake was made, and george said to invite him...i thought george hated the drake?

It wasn't that bad. I laughed quite a bit. It was much better than the one hour episode from a couple weeks ago. Maybe we weren't watching the same episode.

Jerry's dream sequence about life with just Kramer was great. The hospital scene between George and the Doctor was great. George ripping through the invitations to the back of the book was great. Garafolo was a great guest star. It did not suck, IMHO

I agree. That episode sucked. It wasn't even funny. I have been a fan of Seinfeld for years and I did not find that episode funny, not one bit. I wrote NBC and put in my two cents.
