Why end after nine seasons?

Why nine? According to the May issue of Vanity Fair, Seinfeld finds it significant that he was born in '54 (5 + 4 = 9), graduated high school in '72 (7 + 2 = 9) and first appeared on The Tonight Show in '81 (8 + 1 = 9). Seinfeld � which airs Thursdays at 9�p.m./ET (NBC) � will leave the air on May�14 after airing 180 episodes (1 + 8 + 0 = 9).

Pretty cool huh?

Oh, since Seinfeld is ending at 180 episodes, that means that the final episode is 1 hour 30 minutes long, which is 3 separate 30 minute episodes when it is recycled in syndication. This weeks new episode, The Bookstore, is episode 173. There are 6 new episodes left including the final episode (8 if you break the finale into 3 parts)

Might want to recheck the # of episodes and where they are on.

If there is 7 to go NOT INCLUDING tonight's, then the show would go on through the end of May. There's only 6 more Thursday night's INCLUDING tonight (April 9, April 16, April 23, April 30, May 7, May 14 FINALE), but next week is a rerun on thursday night so there's only 5 INCLUDING tonight left.
