Elaine a veggie?

So what's with Elaine, is she a vegetarian or not? She proclaims she is in episodes like the "party" one where she sees George's girlfriend wearing fur, and yet there are episodes where you see her eating duck, chicken, mutton, and all kinds of Chinese food I'm sure contains meat. Thoughts on this inconsistency?
