When did George become interested in a menage a trois?

In the previous episode, George and Jerry devised a plan for Jerry to break up with his girlfriend and start dating her roomate (the roomate switch) by suggesting a menage a trois. The plan failed when the roomate went for the idea.

It is this continuity which hooks regular viewers. It's why those of us who never miss an episode enjoy the show more than newcomers.-- Have you noticed that if you watch the show with someone who does not regularly watch, they don't enjoy it as much? It more complicated than people having different tastes. Now they drop "Cosmo" ( or is it Kosmo?) into almost every episode. It has become funny in its own right only to those of us who know the history of the show that dealt with Kramer's name.

Absolutely not! I thought that that was probably the funniest joke of the year the second time!! It absolutely showed consistency within george's character, and was oncredibly funny! Bad writing would be to have the joke appear in ten shows, not two. I think that seinfeld has rather gotten less funny over the years, but that one had me rotfl!! dan peace

But that's the point. I didn't find it funny the second time. I'd already heard the joke. I agree it shows continuity in Georges character to try a plan he had thought of in the past. If his plan had worked the second time he could have walked out smugly and congratuled himself for pulling off something that Jerry couldn't manage.(a trois). When he decided he had to end the relationship I thought to myself he could always try his menage a trois trick but it'll probably backfire and she'll be "into it". And of course that's what happened so I felt it was too predictable. It appears most viewers didn't guess the ending.

Yes, these are nice subtle references to previous episodes and not a verbatim replay of the same joke. Maybe I'd be happier if they had used a similar reference in this instance. If George were to say to Jerry "I tried my three card trick to break up with my girlfriend last night" and Jerry says "Don't tell me... she's... "*into it*" ". George says "You got it". Then it would be a lot more subtle and regulars would get a big kick out of the reference.
