Everyone was ready to laugh and pay their respects to a great talent (no matter what he said). Thanks very much for that. I missed the show, and now I know what y'all are on about. I chuckled at the "follow-up hello" but the audience sounded way too enthusiastic, like a bad laugh track. Guess you had to be there.

Jerry was wooden.. out of sync with the audience - he really looked unprepared for laughter. And it did seem like 'sympathy' laughter.. perhaps that's why his timing was thrown off. His timing sucked.

He stood like a cigar store indian [intentional?].. I kept expecting 'the hook' from offstage. It would've been there at The Apollo.

Even his comments with Letterman were amateurish. He was 'portly'.. his suit fit poorly.. and what was that hand on the hip 'under' the jacket thing????

However.. let's not allow his stand-up comedy career to interfere with our enjoyment and discussion of 'The Show'!
