Clint Howard's Birthday today

Clint Howard, who played Tobias Lehi Neggie (forgive the spelling) in _The Trip Part II_, as the Smog Strangler, is having his B'day today.

Appeared, in 1966, as a child actor in the first ever FILMED episode of "Star Trek" with William Shatner in the lead role of Captain Kirk ("The Corbomite Manuver"). In 2002, appeared as a Ferengi in the latest Star Trek series, "Enterprise" ("Aquisition").

"...he's 5-5, bald, and repudedly a very generous tipper..."

Allegedly he was in 'my neck of the woods', NE PA, scouting a site for a movie he will be involved in.

Of course, Clint Howard's most important role was as the son in the series "Gentle Ben" in the sixties; Dennis Weaver played his father (and an airboat was commonly used in the series; see the Simpsons episode where they kill the alligator).

After that, Clint Howard's significant role was as Ron Howard's brother. And he played this well, showing up in most Ron Howard films in a bit role. (I noticed him in Night Shift, and then noticed him again in another Ron Howard film; the third time I realized there was a pattern.) I think this still happens, though I've been paying less attention in recent years.

One of our local NEPA CLassic Rock stations mentioned seeing Clint in town (allegedly) scouting for a site for a local shoot. (FWIW Jason Miller was from our neck of the woods too) I coulda' swore they said it was his b'day as well.
