Hi. Watched "The Soup" again tonight in syndication and have a question. What is up with that waitress? She is flirting with George and he asks her to take the walk and the manure thing comes up and then she mentions the boyfriend and is a real bitch to George next time she sees him. Is it just because of the manure conversation? Anybody???

If you're on a first date and the person you're out with starts saying how they "like manure", wouldn't you pretend you had a significant other to get out of it?
Well, yeah, I would think it was a pretty strange thing to talk about, and maybe wouldn't want to date him again. But what I don't understand is the anger she seems to have towards him next time they are in Monk's. Was just wondering if I was missing something.

No, that came later. I think she was just pissed to add effect to the whole situation.
To be accurate he did not like manure. He said he liked the word "manure".

We don't know for sure if it's the manure conversation or what, IMO. What is being portrayed, as it always is in Geroge and Jerry's hard-luck adventures with females, is the problem a man has with understanding what is going on between him and a woman. We are constantly guessing what is going on in their heads, while, as Jerry says in his monologue, the man has no mystery about him at all--we want to drink beer and look at naked woman.
That episode illustrates this guessing game men have to play quite well. Frist she agrees to go for a walk and George is in seventh heaven, thinking he is getting somewhere; then, she slips in the reference to the boyfriend, and his morale is shot to hell; then, it is suggested that maybe she doesn't really have a boyfriend at all, and yet another twist is added.
In another episode he finds out his lady friend has a male roommate. Geoge confronts her about this, and of course he ends up getting more than he bargained for. The other side of the coin--the woman is upfront and compliant, and it is more than the man can handle. So, perhaps a little mystery isn't so bad!
