I'm amazed that no one noticed this. Jerry turned to Newman once and said "Shirley, you jest"!

Surely you can't be serious.

His name is Norman, it was given out in the episode when Kramer and Newman stole a mail truck to go to Michigan with bottles. At the end Newman is caught with "the farmers daughter" and she yells out something like "run Norman" not sure but I know it's Norman.

Thanks Mike. You know, even if I hadn't seen the interview where this question was answered, it only makes sense for Norman not to be Newman's first name. Either it was a slip, and the actress was supposed to say 'Newman' (which is what really happened), or she was supposed to say 'Norman', but recall the line she spoke: "I'll never forget you, Norman!" There would be no humor whatsoever in this statement, unless she used the wrong name. The wrong name. And, for you folks who enjoy blasting the curent writers, this was not a recent episode.
