Viewers notice ironic coincidence of episode mentioning O.J. Rifkin name shortly before O.J. Simpson's real-life criminal events, comparing it to earlier Seinfeld Simpson chase parody.
I was recently watching an episode from a year or two ago which dealt with Jerry's girlfriend the masseuse. The other story line was Elaine's boyfriend, Joel Rifkin, who had the same name as a famous mass-murderer. As Elaine flips through Sports Illustrated she non-chalantly talks about "cooler" names. First she comes across Deion, then O.J.
Elaine: "O.J. Rifkin. WOW!"
Kind of ironic given the recent events of the man from Brentwood.
