Babu

I don't see how Babu could have shown up at the wedding in India, when Babu was from Pakistan (sp?). The last time I looked at an atlas, Pakistan was not part of India.

I thought Babu might show up too, but maybe somebody realized that India and Pakistan are mortal enemies and thought better of it.

No, but it was part of India before India gained independence from the UK. Basically Pakistan was an area of India with an Islamic majority, so it became its own country. Y'see, "Gandhi" was on Showtime today, so the details are pretty fresh. =) So Babu showing up isn't that far-fetched.

The point that people are trying to make is not that Babu is from India. He is not. Nobody has said that he is.

The gang travelled so far, to a part of the world NEAR where Babu is. It just seems like a lost opportunity to bring back a funny character and tie in the new season to the past.

Really! Although I suppose that if the NBC feed goes as far as Pakistan, then Babu might have caught all of the hype, or maybe the Larry King interview, then he would have known Jerry was attending a wedding in India, and he could have arranged to hook up with him.

Actually, with all that went on in that episode, where would the writers
have found time for a whole 'Babu returns' plotline??  No way.  if and
when he ever returns, I'm assuming it'll be a major part of the plot of
that particular episode.

Dave, that is ridicuwus! Even if Babu saw the Larry King/Seinfeld interview he could not have possibly gone to India to confront Jerry because it would have been TOO LATE. The show had already been taped. Jerry and the gang were already back in New York. Oh wait a minute; it was backwards. They returned to New York before the wedding, yeah perhaps it could happen. :-)

I could imagine a shot of Babu in his living room, with his family, watching TV and the CNN interview comes on - he recognizes Jerry, points to the set and exclaims, That's him that's the very very bad man. - fade to a commercial.

In the trip to India in the Betrayal, wouldn't it have been nice if Babu showed up. Yes, I know he was deported to Pakisatain, but with all the other inconsistences it could happen.
