Even though the show is great because of many absurd situations, the one thing that has always bothered me is the story about the piece of cake form some royal wedding (from 1937 may be....) that Elaine is eating out of peterman's fridge. I'm I missing something? can you buy something like that? what does mean that the cake is from a royal wedding that has taken place decades ago? is it the ingredients that make it special? may be I'm not too bright...

The cake thing just showed how far people are willing to go to get close to
celebrity.  Remember how proud JP was when he thought the cake was worth so
much more than he paid for it?  Look at what people will buy off of EBay,
Elvis cup with water in it,   a snowball from Texas,  sexy underwear
purportedly worn by a star, Titanic stuff, anything Marilyn or James Dean,
to name a few.    I guess it is just human nature to be facsinated by this
kind of thing.  JMHO,  Nana

especially in years 8 and 9 where they wrote these ridiculous silly situatuions... like the cake thing. They moved away from the "relationship" and "personal" humour that was characteristically from Larry David's and Jerry's creative input.

I wasn't questioning the interest for celebrity stuff, I was questioning the fact that a piece of cake from 1937 probably now has transformed itself into single atoms and then into some organism populating the surface of the earth...unless of course soon after the wedding someone put it in a bucket of liquid nitrogen
