Characters

A show has to change but Seinfeld changed for the worse. Elaine was half-way nice but then turned into a total bitch. Kramer was always whacky but crossed into cartoonish-ness. George was always crazy but then he totally lost it. At least before, he would make sense.He would work up to the scream instead of jumping right into it. Jerry was the straight man but then started acting goofy so you don't have the contrast between him and the crazy characters which is one area where comedy comes in.

Good changes: Adding Elaine- she wasn't in The Seinfeld Chronicles George was a rip off of Woody Allen then Jason played him more like Larry David. Kramer was a step behind then Michael played him a step ahead of everyone else. The stories moved maybe too slow in the earliest eps but then speeded up properly but toward the end the pace was too fast. Example: In The Trip Part 2, George and Jerry are driving the cops crazy with their talk about sirens.They are surprised to see cops eating milanos and so forth. If they did that ep now they would get in the cop car and then they would cut to their arrival at police headquarters just so they could get in more lousy crap such as George screaming for no reason. I think I might prefer eps of medium pace but if you do a fast paced episode, cram in more good stuff not a bunch of crap such as George screaming all the time.

I agree with your post, especially "if they did the cop sequence now..." i did notice tho that in season 9 they made these little efforts to try to return to their roots, but they were so brief and the show had traveled so far it just seemed forced (and what was with the characters thinking those pointless jokes to themselves...Elaine sniffing the pen, George thinking about coffee shop drinks? it seemed like they tried to break from the all-important plots for a second but gave up.) oh well. its just tv.
