The Estelle Doll Episode

When George was "listening" and "talking" to the Estelle doll was hilarious!!

As he was leaving the diner with the doll, there was a woman standing next to the cashier who said "That man belongs in an insane asylum". George seemed to smile and say "Hi" to her. Could she have been the therapist that George was going to earlier? Remember in the Master of His Domain episode, George's mother begs him to get help. George was going to a therapist for awhile but I forget what she looked like.

This seemed to me to be a cross of Woody Allen's "Oedipus Wrecks" with that really, really scary Rod Serling's Night Gallery episode about the talking doll.

Actually, I think the Rod Serling talking doll episode was a Twilight Zone episode with Telly Savalas as the asshole father. "I'm Talking Tina and you'd better be nice to me!"

Thanks, you just sent shivers up my spine. I saw that episode as a young child and it made a lasting impression (scared the hell out of me). That was the one where the doll sits on the staircase with a knife? The box opens and the doll grins devilishly? Does anyone know the title of that episode?

At least it didn't look like my mother.

And don't forget the William Goldman book, later made into a movie starring Anthony Hopkins, "Magic".

I believe the lady was from one of this year's episodes. It was the episode that George thought he had been shortchanged at Monk's restuarant. This was the same episode that his car catches on fire. Also it was the episode where he wore the Henry the 8th custume to the theatre that Krammer was working at. That lady thought she saw the "warning signs" that George was losing his mind (since her dad had recently gone crazy).

It was the one when Kramer is hanging around an old aquantance of George's who just got out of a psych. hospital. Anyway that women was also an old friend/neighbor of George's. Her father is insane and she thought that George was showing signs of being insane. He was obsessed with the cashier at the coffee shop not giving him the right change. I thought the episode was hilarious! Janine

I think she was the woman with the bad hairdo. You remember, the episode where George cancels the appointment and he gets charged.

She was the daughter of his parent's neighbor in the episode "The Gum" episode of 14 Dec 85. She is actress Mary Jo Keenen and she played Deena in both episodes. If you remember, she sees George in that episode dressed as Henry the VIII amongst other "crazy things" she saw him do in that episode.

The woman with the bad hairdo was Dream On's Wendie Malick as Wendy in "The Kiss Hello" episode 101, 16 Feb 95.

That was Mary Jo Neenen, who played 'Deena' the girl who grew up next door to George's childhood home. We first saw her in 'The Gum'. She thought that George was having a nervous breakdown because of his paranoid actions.

I too thought this woman was his therapist from a previous episode. Wasn't it his neighbor from Queens who had gone on to be a shrink of sorts and ended up counseling George?
