Irregularities . . .

At the moment I'm converting all of my recorded Seinfeld episodes to VCD, so they'll be preserved for as long as I'm going to need them - CD's last a hundred years you know. I've been watching the episodes as I copy them over and I've got a couple of questions . . I'd be grateful if someone could help.

1. In "The Millenium" at the end Jerry gives Newman notice that the millenium is actually 2001. He says "one year late, thus - quite lame" - shouldn't it be one year early? I'm confused?

2. In "The Van Buren Boys" George finds a candiate for the Susan Ross scholarship, who is a younger him. Later in the coffee shop Jerry says to George "Last night I dreamt the hamburger was eating me" - Does this mean anything?

Of course this was not his intention, but as there was no year 0, the new millenium didn't start before January 1st 2001 (Jerry's reasoning).
