Just saw The Finale

I just saw The Finale for the first time. Apart from the clips of old shows, I didn't laugh once (ok, the stand-up bit at the end was quite good but that lasted for about a minute). The worst episode ever.

I wouldn't say that it was the worst episode. Nor would I say it wasn't funny. I thought it was a great way to wrap the whole show up by bringing all the old characters back. The very end was a little weak, where they were just stuck in a small jail cell.

Are you sure we were watching the same episode? 2 part episode, in a court room....? If it was the worst episode, then how would you have made it the best episode? It is hard to create the best episode, when every single episode is hilarious.

I enjoyed the part about Elaine's cell phone walk and talk and whatever but the rest is bad. They should have ended the show with an original idea, not just show clips. I would have enjoyed an episode like "The Invitations".

The worst episode was the "black and white cookie" fiasco.

I adore the last show. I am from Mass, and the fact that 1. Elaine was calling "Jill" and they were in Mass, just added to it. It was a great review of the show while adding in new script. I thought it was the best ending in any series I have ever seen. My only wish would have been to have "Crazy Joe Divola" in the courtroom.

Without that last show we never would have had Jerry's skit on SNL when he is in OZ, another great series on tv. Love when my worlds collide.

It was funny. Not the best, but funny. It was *very* funny when Saddam double parks them!

It was miserable. Jerry was miserable (sick). Elaine was miserable (toe). George was miserable (no coat). The whole thing was a downer with very few laughs.

I didn't think The Finale was even laughworthy.

I think they were trying to be artsy, like a version of the play "No Exit," by Sartre.

Imagine they're all killed together in a car crash. Hell would be for them to spend all eternity waiting to get seated at a Chinese restaurant. I think the jail cell is supposed to be some kind of version of that.

"The Dealership" The self-confident Jerry charater from earlier episodes (think of him at the car-rental reservation desk) suddenly couldn't tell a dolt like Puddy that he wouldn't pay extra for undercoating and keys. And who does he look to for help? George. At this point in the series the writers had reduced what had been one of the most complex, nuanced characters in TV history to a screaming ninny. And the whole Elaine/Puddy "we're broken up....we're back together" thing had become as stale as an week-old Arby's bun. Only Kramer's sub-plot (the test drive) was consistant with his character (and funny).

If you want to talk about the worst episodes.........there are not many but I would have to say that The Pilot (not the later episodes called "The Pilot" but the very first episode is not very funny. There are a few others that I got done watching and thought to my self "That was kind of bad.." but the episode names slip my mind.....
