Cold fusion reference 10/3

In the 10/3 episode, Jerry, Elaine, & Kramer are at J's apt, when J grabs his jacket and says "We'd better get going if we're going to make it to that 7 o'clock cold fusion".

When did cold fusion go from being a controversial scientific hypothesis to something for which a New Yorker might be late? What's the reference? If he _didn't_ say "cold fusion", what did he say? Thanks.

"Cold Fusion" was probably the movie they were going to see that was showing at 7:00. I've noticed that whenever Jerry and his pals go to a movie, it's never an actual movie but a made-up one. Unfortunately I can't think of any other titles they've used. The exception of course was when they planned to see "Plan 9 From Outer Space."

"Rachelle Rochelle" was a movie they saw one year and a video they rented another time. "A young girl's erotic journey from Milan to Minsk" . I have not ever looked for this one but I suspect that it too does not exist.

Don't forget my all-time favorite, "Chunnel" (from "The Pool Guy" episode).

While standing in line to see "Prognosis Negative", on the wall behind Jerry and George are posters of some coming attractions: "Prancer" (looks like something about a horse) and "Eve". There were a couple of others, too, but I didn't get a good look at them.

I think the other poster was "Eve of Destruction" with Gregory Hines (I don't know who played Eve). Other posters appearing on Seinfeld: Plan 9 from Outer Space, Sibling Rivalry,... I wrote them down but don't have them with me.

I believe there was also a poster for 'Barcelona' on the wall behind George and Susan when they were waiting in line to see 'Muted Heart'.

A means to an end (from the episode when jerry has the good looking blond who can get tickets to anything...there was another in that episode too but i cant remember the name.) there has been a bunch but I cant remember all the names...this year one the bootlegung episode there were two oh Cry Cry again and one other...hmmm i know theres a bunch more out there there was the episode when george first got engaged and he and susan went to see a tear jerker and she came out crying and jerry came out talking to another guy about the awesome action flick they had seen. I cant remember the names to those.

Muted Heart

In the same episode as Prognosis Negative, the other movie they see is called Ponce de Leon.

Fire Storm ?

Yes! Firestorm! When Jerry had planned to see it with George but because of The Engagement, George went to see The Muted Heart (another fake one) with Susan instead.

Didn't Jerry go to FIRESTORM with Mario Joyner but George had to go to a chick flick with Susan (or maybe they watched "Mad About You")? I don't remember the movie that Kramer's friend of a friend bootlegged (or tried to -- I haven't seen all of the ep). Also: BLAME IT ON THE RAIN.

I was watching Entertainment Tonight a few nights ago and saw that Howie Long (the NFL commentator) was making a movie called "Firestorm"! Life imitates art.

Jerry and his girlfriend did go to see an actual film, Schindler's List, in The Raincoats.

Another made up flick that Elaine and George saw in the Dog was Ponce De Leon. In The Movie, the gang all wanted to see Checkpoint (made-up) but all but Kramer saw Rochelle, Rochelle.

I caught that too... great title for a movie... remember TV screenwriters all have several unsold scripts on their hard disks... I suspect this was a little in joke between the author and himself. Then again it could be another in the long line of made up real sounding movie titles that have appeared in SEINFELD... remember Prognosis: NEGATIVE? Best, Chris B.
