Brothers ? Sisters ?

Hi everybody.

Does Jerry, George, Elaine, or the K-man have any brothers / sisters ?

I remember Jerry telling to his mom : "am i getting a baby brother ?" - when she wanted to talk to him. But does any of them have Brothers / sisters ?

That was Elaine's cousin Holly. Elaine has a sister in Baltimore, I think. She spoke to her on the phone in the Christmas card episode.

Yes, a brother of George's has been mentioned twice. A sister of Jerry's has been mentioned once. Neither exists. Just continuity errors. They even held casting for George's brother a while ago, but it never went through, and I'm glad for that. Elaine has a sister Gail whom we've never seen but who lives in St. Louis with her son, who is probably in his early teens now. (When Elaine sent out that revealing Christmas card a few years ago, she mentioned her 10-year-old nephew.)

In real life, Jerry has a sister Carolyn, Julia has 3 half-sisters on each side of her family, Jason has a half-brother Michael and a half-sister Karen, both older, and Michael is an only child. :-)

They've never been seen but it doesn't mean they don't exist. Who knows, maybe one of them will show up in a future episode.

Also, maybe i'm crazy, but doesn't George have a sister Shelly (?) who was in the hospital scene in "The Contest"?

Jerry mentioned his sister when talking with Elaine about how something would get back to him. "...I'll tell my cousin, he'll tell my uncle, he'll tell my mother, she'll tell my sister..." I don't remember the episode, but I remember the conversation.

I'll say it again...Elaine has a sister and the others are all only children. The mention of Jerry's sister and George's brother are pure continuity errors. They did hold casting for George's brother, as I've mentioned, but they never followed through on it. Trust me on this one...Elaine's sister Gail in St. Louis is the only real sibling of our gang. :-)

The mention of Jerry's sister and George's brother are pure continuity errors. They did hold casting for George's brother, as I've mentioned, but they never followed through on it. Trust me on this one...Elaine's sister Gail in St. Louis is the only real sibling of our gang. :-)

While I usually take stock in your posts, Michael, I have to go against you on this one. The sibling mentions were not accidents. Somebody specifically wrote those words into the script and nobody corrected them. When George mentioned that his brother once impregnated a woman named Pauline, we knew conclusively that George has (had?) a brother.

This is different from the time George mentioned his sister being
shot while laughing on the street, because this was obviously
meant to appear fabricated on the spot.  There's a fine line.

You're absolutely right about this. But remember, Babu's vow to return to America and seek vengeance on Jerry was specifically written into the script and never corrected...it's still a continuity error. It's not that those sibling mentions were accidents...the writers just never followed up on it - although they did almost create a brother for George before trashing the idea.

How do you equate Babu's not returning with a continuity error? Why would the script need to be corrected? Even if we never see Babu again there is no error.

Maybe he never saves up the required sum of money, maybe he dies or more likely he calms down and realises it wasn't Jerry's fault he was deported.

Continuity errors happen with things like a clock showing widely different times, a cigarette suddenly getting longer, an item of clothing/jewellry changing or disappearing in the middle of a scene etc.

Personally I hope we never see Babu again because he was ridiculous the first time round.
