Clinton's evidence - Seinfeld connection

The Toronto Star - A major respected Toronto newspaper (http://www.thestar.com/) ran three quotes on the front page this morning of the American President's taped testimony. I could not help but connect each quote to a Seinfeld episode. (Is it just me? or do you do it too?)

(1) ...I engaged in conduct that was wrong... was that wrong? ...having sex in the Oval Office, was that wrong? ....did I miss a meeting?...because if I did...

(2) ...Did I want this to come out?...No Was I embarrassed?...Yes. was that from The Wait Out when Elaine could not stand the estranged husband answering his own questions?

(3) ...a man giving a woman a gift... a woman giving a man a gift... was that like Re-Gifting?

... And the Cuban cigars - Kramer would have had a field day with that one.

... What does the American Lung Association think of that use of cigars - I guess they would approve. It won't hurt your lungs.

What a day. Only in America - and D'Boys won - and Roger gets his 20th !

First of all, what president didn't have sex in the oval office or any other place for that matter. I think he answer those question appropriately. To answer qustion concerning anyone private life will effect their better judgement. I probably can't speak for everyone, but at some point in time. Everyone have alter the truth, not saying the president beat around the truth. all I am saying is that he was born a man will do manly things such as, pleasures with women. I am not condoning to his sexual acts outside of his marriage, but I am not condeming him for being a human being. "a man".

   I'd guess most of them.  And the few that may have didn't get caught.
That's
   a big part of the difference.  Just because someone may have gotten away
with
   something, does not mean that no one else can ever be "tried" for the same
activity.

    Quite a pile of bullshit, but I'll respond anyway.   Clinton's private life
is what he does
     "IN PRIVATE" (notice a clue here?)  Once his activities become public they
are
     not part of his private life.  Or is that too compliccated for you to
understand?
     Further the activity is a crime in most of the US.  It's called adultery.
A public
     crime is not part of his "private life."

       No you can't. And with a sentence like this one, you obviously have
trouble
       speaking even for yourself.

      You're not US born, right?   The president LIED. That's a fact.  While it
may
      be debatable if he committed perjury, the fact is he lied in a sworn
statement.
      In the US committing adultery is not considered a "manly" thing.

      Ever think about a job working for Clinton?  Trying to twist the English
like
      this is a good start.

Just thought I'd throw in a thought I had the other day. This whole thing is like a Seinfeld episode, a la what I described in another post about a week ago. People get mixed up about when to get morally outraged, get all offended over things that may be just ettiquette violations. People want to be well- liked and for their lives to go smoothly, so we avoid admitting to things that people are likely to get offended by, even when we hurt no one. (George doesn't want to admit he got a sweater at a discount for it's minor imperfection. Elaine doesn't want to be an annoying neighbor complaining about a dog that barks all night, even though she gets no sleep due to this dog. Clinton has intimate relations with a willing partner in private, though, rather inappropriately, while in office and in the White House.) So then we do things that are actually wrong or at any rate are closer to being wrong than the initial activity. (George doesn't mention the red dot, and, I believe, pretends to not have seen it, and pretends he paid full price for it, wanting the credit for that. Elaine kidnaps someone's dog. Clinton lies under oath.) Then hilarity ensues when people are outraged at this behavior. Like as if we don't understand what gets someone into this kind of jam.

It's a _Seinfeld_ episode. It's fall, and we have a new comedy, called _Clinton_, to replace _Seinfeld_. :-)

The connection is pretty obvious - when the show closed, some of the scriptwriters probably joined his staff and helped him prepare his testimony.

One thing is certain - if Clinton had joined The Contest, he wouldn't have lasted half as long as Kramer did.
