Instant Coffee?

In "The Library" (S3) Jerry tells Bookman he doesn't keep instant coffee in the house - whether he's doing this as he hates instant coffee or just because he doesn't like Bookman we don't know. In "The Seven" (S7) (Paramount UK last night) Jerry is making up names along the lines of George's "Soda" idea - he opens his cupboard and reads out product names - one of which is "Maxwell House". Does this mean Jerry always had coffee or has started to buy it since Season 3? Any other instant coffee references to shed some light on this inconsistency?

Well, I seem to remember in "the contest" (I believe) When George and Jerry are both cranky from the lack of mastering their domains George notes that Jerry just has instant coffee... "Why don't you get some real coffee!!" Jerry responds something like "I get my coffee on the outside!!"

Meaning that Jerry does have instant coffee so his exchange with Bookman is just to wind him up because he doesn't like him I guess.
