Bizzaro Jerry! & Why I LOVE Seinfeld

I have to say that Bizzaro Jerry is one of my favorite episodes. It is so unexpected. That's one thing I really love about this show....it is NOT predictable! It's crazy! I love it!

I have seen almost every episode, but I didn't really start loving the show until last year while watching the new ones. I remember seeing the one in which Kramer hosts the Japanese tourists and they get stuck in his dresser drawer. It was again so unexpected, so refreshing, so hilarious.....and so UNLIKE anything else on TV. My husband and I would just say a few words from that episode and burst out laughing together.

I have to say, that's what I love about Seinfeld...it's so unexpected and refreshing....and still so freaking funny!

PS It's hard for me to distinguish between old and new episodes because I saw almost all of the episodes in syndication.

Ha! It's easy for me! Here are some tips on distinguishing between New and old episodes: 1) In the old episodes, the lighting in Jerry's apartment is duller, and more comfortable. In the New episodes, Jerry's apartment seems to have about 50 flourescent lights installed above it. 2) In the old episodes, you'll notice that the comedy is more crisp, intelligent, and flowing. And the plot lines aren't as outrageous as in the New episodes. 3) In the old episodes, Elaine doesn't act like a COMPLETE JERK, as in the New episodes. 4) You'll notice that in the new episodes the studio audience sounds more like a LAUGH TRACK than real human beings.

There are just a few tips. You might want to download the Seinfeld episode guide and print it out so you can become more informed.

Here goes Justin--the only guy who watches a show he hates. Quick, Justin--can you name the specific episode where the "old" becomes "new". From the way you're talking about it, one day, the Seinfeld set added lights, started telling bad jokes, turned Elaine into a "jerk", and kicked out the studio audience!

Load of crap

Since your definition of comfortable lighting probaly differs from Justin's (not to mention your sense humor, and character judgement) the best suggestion, if you want to help date episodes, is just to download a guide. When you are able to date the shows, you'll probably find that there are more recent episodes you like, just like there are ones you hate. Similarly, you'll see a few older shows that aren't too funny and older ones that are true classics. However, let me know if you can tell which ones have that totally fake laugh track in them, ok?

Saw Bizarro Jerry episode again last night. Like it more each time, perhaps because I 'm a big Seinfeld fan and have seen most if not all of the episodes. I do think if you had never seen, or had not seen more than a couple of Seinfeld episodes, you couldn't appreciate what a gem Bizarro Jerry is. Jeff Laderman
