❓ Question

Fans discuss a recurring red-haired background extra who appears throughout the series, speculating about his identity and whether he's connected to the cast or crew.

Sorry guys, been ages since I've posted here, so I'm not up with the FAQs. Hope this hasn't been asked too repetatively.

I notice there's a red haired man in the background of so many episodes. He usually doesn't have any lines, just swans around in the background. I've seen him in episodes as early as The Chinese Restaurant, right up to near the end. In one episode, possibly The Doodle, Kramer asks him the date on the street. I believe I also saw him as a doctor in the background of one episode. Whenever Jerry and the gang are out somewhere, this red haired man seems to pop up.

Just wondering who he is... is he a friend or relative of the cast or crew? It gets to the point where I'm looking for him in every episode now. Anyone know?

He's probably the owner of that yellow car! (Honda CRX, right?) always parked in the opening scenes in which we see the outside of Jerry's building. Seldom have I seen that building without the yellow car.

Okay, maybe I shoul've made myslef clear, I didn't mean they shot several scenes and that the yellow car owner always happened to be parked there.

According to the credits for "The Doodle", the passerby that is asked the date by Kramer is an actor named Norman Brenner. His credited appearances on Seinfeld:

Rider in "The Muffin Tops" Ian in "The Wig Master" Passerby in "The Doodle" Man at Airport in "The Limo" Beder in "The Tape" Clerk in "The Deal"

I assume that these are only his credited SPEAKING parts; they don't mention the times that he's appeared as an extra in the background.

To add more confusion, his last name is sometimes spelled "Brennar", and under this name he's listed in the IMDb. He appeared in the movie "Law and Disorder" with Michael Richards. So maybe he's one of Richards' friends.
